Stainless Steel 347 and 347H Instrumentation Tubing are columbium (niobium)-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with 17–20% chromium and 9–13% nickel. 347 grade resists intergranular corrosion during thermal cycling and welding, whereas 347H possesses greater content of carbon up to 0.10% to provide better creep strength and high-temperature strength. The tubes generally provide tensile strength ranging from 515–750 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. They display fine oxidation resistance and dimensional stability in temperatures up to 900°C, having good weldability and dimensional accuracy.
