Stainless Steel 321 and 321H Instrumentation Tubing are titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steels with 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel. Grade 321 is stabilized to resist carbide precipitation intergranular corrosion, while 321H has increased carbon content (up to 0.10%) to enhance creep strength and performance at elevated temperature. These tubes are usually provided with tensile strengths of 515 to 750 MPa and yield strengths of approximately 205 MPa. They possess superior oxidation resistance and mechanical stability at service temperatures of up to 900°C, together with good weldability and dimensional accuracy critical for instrumentation.
