Stainless Steel 321/321H Heat Exchanger Tubing is comprised of 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel. Grade 321 has titanium to avoid carbide precipitation after welding, whereas 321H includes more carbon content (up to 0.10%) for improved creep and high-temperature strength. The tubes provide a tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. Both grades retain corrosion resistance and structural stability at temperatures of up to 870–900°C, with 321H being the choice where increased mechanical strength is necessary at high temperatures.
