The composition of Stainless Steel 317 and 317L Electropolished Pipes includes 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum, along with carefully controlled amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, and phosphorus. The addition of molybdenum significantly boosts resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride and acidic environments. These pipes boast a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 35–40%. The low-carbon 317L grade not only improves weldability but also minimizes carbide precipitation and offers excellent formability, while the electropolished finish further enhances corrosion resistance, smoothness, and ease of sterilization.
